Darling Pottery Studio, founded in 1974, is a place where students can go to learn every aspect of pottery. The series of lessons will give each student a strong foundation in the basics of every aspect of ceramics. It is a craft; as students progress, their skill level increases.
Students come from every skill level and age, taught by accomplished potter and artist Ann Darling. The studio offers instruction in ceramics and pottery skills that include kick wheel pottery, high-fired stoneware, raku and hand-made glazes.
The studio is a large, professional operation, with a gallery, library and large loft art studio, lined with kick wheels.
Darling Pottery Studio offers a number of different firing techniques including raku, smoke firing and reduction. The studio has both electric and reduction gas firing; a gas-firing kiln is outside.
The Pottery has both instruction and a gallery. Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
